From GCSE Tutoring to Empowering Women: The Unexpected Journey That Taught Me the Power of Coaching

In December 2011, I had just returned home from university for the Christmas holidays. I was looking forward to relaxing, but my mum had other plans. She casually told me she had arranged some 1:1 sessions with a client’s daughter who needed help with GCSE Maths.

I was surprised and a little panicked. Yes, I was excellent at Maths I got an A at A-levels, but teaching it? That’s a different skill altogether. The sessions were £20 per hour, and my mum had already booked 5 hours in advance. No pressure, right?

I felt the nerves, but I showed up, stepped out of my comfort zone, and gave it my all. That student went on to pass her GCSEs, and in that moment, I realized something powerful: your gifts aren’t just for you, they’re meant to serve others.

That tutoring experience planted a seed. Today, over a decade later, I coach women who want to use eCommerce and social media marketing to gain financial independence and transform their lives.

So far, I’ve had the honor of coaching over 500 women, and it all started with one scared session and a mum who believed in me.

Working with a coach isn’t just about learning skills:  it’s about gaining clarity, direction, and the confidence to take action. Coaches help you see what’s possible and hold you accountable to your goals.
